"Western Pennsylvania is a vast area originally fueled by steel and now by education, technology, and medicine. The people who flock to the region are among some of the brightest and skilled in these areas. Every one of them has a story. Throughout this project, I hope to be able to be exposed to stories for all different cultures and to be able to share some of those stories and even possibly some life advice. For me, this bench and I have history. This bench was the subject of the first photograph I ever had published. In the eight years since I took that photograph, I have returned time and time again to pay a visit to this bench and to reflect on what's changed and what's stayed the same. I felt it was only fitting to kick this project off with a picture of me and this bench."
